Youth PB Accelerator organizes the initiative “Learn democracy – how to organize participatory budgets with the youngest”, which it launches together with the Granada Provincial Council; the University of Granada, through the Department of Participation and Social Innovation-Medialab UGR; and in collaboration with Laboratory 717 – Andalusian Democratic Participation and Innovation Laboratory.
The objective of this initiative is to promote the design of participatory budgets with the youngest, either from educational centers or from the municipalities, with the purpose of increasing the social commitment and empowerment of the youngest citizens with democracy. The participants will leave the laboratories with a participatory budgeting project with young people ready to be implemented, with the initiative focused on facilitating the design and sharing experiences of participatory budgeting (Participatory Budgeting) aimed at youth.
WHO IS CALLED TO PARTICIPATE?
During the session prototypes of participatory budgets will be created, seeking that the people involved in the seminar develop, or continue developing, their civic skills and abilities. The proposal is open to the general public but is of special interest to:
- Technical staff and political positions of citizen participation of local entities or regional entities.
- Management staff and teachers of primary and secondary schools.
- Young people interested in participating in democratic processes.
- University teaching staff and undergraduate or master’s students in education, pedagogy or related areas.
REGISTRATION, DEADLINE AND CERTIFICATION
To attend, register in the following form until March 15. The activity will be carried out in person, in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Labor Relations and Human Resources of the University of Granada, on March 29 at 9:30 at 13:30.
People who participate in the process will receive a certificate accrediting the activity.
